For a memory of my unique close relative. The "Don't Disappear" trilogy is a work of fiction based upon true events. Some of the names of people and places have been changed to protect the innocent.

At fourteen, she truly believes life has an Undo button, never thinking one mistake could turn into disaster. But all too soon her survival instincts will be challenged.
Russian girl Margo Ruseena is innocent and naive when she meets and begins secretly dating young KGB officer, Zahar Olovsky. For the first time in her life she feels as if someone truly loves and supports her; however, before their relationship can fully mature terror strikes and she finds herself in a completely different world. Without any clue of reality, it takes time to understand her new surroundings. The discovery hits hard.
Alone, Margo relies on her own intuition and the training she absorbed from Zahar, who is now far away and can’t help. Besides, those around who could give a hand -- refuse. The trap squeezes Margo’s mind, but to stay alive and escape, she has to make a deal... with herself.

History has a habit of repeating itself.
Collapsing to the ground, the Soviet Union in the blink of an eye is overloaded with corruption and poverty, dragging honest people down to the bottom of its evil pit. As a result, it becomes the most challenging time to endure even for the strongest of men, let alone for a single woman with children, as it happens to be with Margo Ruseena.
Just twenty-one years old and without knowledge of the situation, she manages to return to her homeland during this chaotic time. Much to her shock, everything has changed in her life – status, place, name – and now homeless, Margo, a.k.a. Bella, has to mature overnight and find a way to protect herself and her little children. So far, survival has become her second nature, but if the government’s repression seemingly slides into infinity, her drastic decisions might push her over the limits of morality.

Millions of people around the world are dreaming to live in America.
Bella is no exception. After all, if America is wealthy enough to give away billions of dollars annually to foreign aid, it must stand to reason that all her citizens are rich too. Forcing her fate, Bella turns her dream into reality and relocates to the new land of plenty, but instead of immediately diving inside the cream of abundance and the love of her new husband, she quickly learns that her ‘dreamality’ is just an illusion — all Americans are not relatives of that kind ole Uncle Sam.
She hits rock-bottom before realizing it’s impossible to run from herself and her luck. Indeed, life challenges her in different ways for a long time, but the race issue and extreme points of view in this new land deeply puzzle her. On top of that, she accidently meets her past, who tries to help her analyze this new reality, but simultaneously shakes her finally stabilized life to the ground. Cornered, Bella has to make complicated and life-threatening decisions, while balancing on a tight wire between love and responsibility.
